Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT), Basar was established in 2008 by the Government of Telangana with the objective of providing quality higher education to talented rural youth. The University has steadily grown into a premier institution that promotes academic excellence, innovation, and research while creating opportunities for students from rural backgrounds to achieve their full potential.
RGUKT offers integrated educational programmes that blend science, engineering, and humanities, encouraging interdisciplinary learning and fostering a strong culture of innovation. The institution focuses on nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and research aptitude among students, enabling them to become responsible professionals and contributors to society.
RGUKT–Mahabubnagar has been established with the noble objective of expanding access to technological education for rural youth.As per G.O.Ms.No.24, Higher Education (TE) Department, dated 28-05-2025, the Government of Telangana has accorded administrative sanction for the establishment of the RGUKT campus at Mahabubnagar under Section 3(2) of the RGUKT Act, 2008, with effect from the Academic Year 2025–26 . The campus aims to empower students in scientific and technological domains while developing their innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities. The institution plays a vital role in bridging the rural–urban education gap by providing high-quality education through modern teaching methodologies and advanced infrastructure.
The University offers a six-year integrated B.Tech. programme, consisting of two years of Pre-University Course (PUC) followed by four years of Engineering (B.Tech.). Admissions are granted based on merit in the SSC (10th Class) GPA / Grades, as per the norms prescribed by the Government of Telangana.
Student evaluation is conducted through continuous internal assessments, including assignments, monthly tests, and end-semester examinations — ensuring a rigorous and holistic academic experience.
